Basketball Recap: Chiles Takes a Loss

Chiles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lincoln Trojans, falling 60-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-26 back in December of 2024.

Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamiya Brown, who posted 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Brown's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nala Copeland, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Chiles' loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Chiles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-31 defeat against Godby on the 17th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-16 victory against Leon on the 17th.
