Basketball Recap: Greenback Takes a Loss

Greenback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Cumberland Gap Panthers 76-36. While losing is never fun, the Cherokees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Panthers are ranked 163rd).

Greenback's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cumberland Gap, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Greenback will be home for the holidays to greet Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenback is facing Oakdale at the right time seeing as Oakdale is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Cumberland Gap, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gibbs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
