Soccer Game Preview: Kamiakin vs. Southridge

The Kamiakin Braves will head out to challenge the Southridge Suns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kamiakin's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Kamiakin didn't have quite enough to beat Hanford and fell 3-2. Kamiakin have struggled against Hanford recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Southridge fell victim to Chiawana and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverhawks. While losing is never fun, Southridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Chiawana are ranked 13th).

Kamiakin's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Southridge, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Kamiakin beat Southridge by a goal in their previous matchup back in March, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
