Waterford has gone 4-0 against Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Waterford is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Oakdale last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Waterford might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Oakdale an easy 55-32 win. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1278th, while the Mustangs are ranked 375th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Christian Gayle, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Sanchez, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills and fell 82-36. One positive for the Rams, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Waterford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Everything came up roses for Waterford against Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP in their previous matchup on December 6th, as the squad secured a 64-17 victory. In that contest, Waterford amassed a halftime lead of 34-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
