Basketball Recap: Dodge City Comes Up Short

Dodge City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakin Broncs. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Dodge City's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lakin, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

After both having extra time off, Dodge City and Woodward will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 2:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Woodward's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Lakin, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Syracuse will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lakin surely won't give up without a fight.
