Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. Science Leadership Academy

The Northeast Vikings will square off against Science Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Science Leadership Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Northeast, who comes in off a win.

Northeast is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over Samuel Fels on Thursday.

Northeast saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliezer Garcia-Guzman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Garcia-Guzman has posted since back in April of 2024. Calvin Castro also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Science Leadership Academy came up short against Nueva Esperanza on Wednesday and fell 8-4. Science Leadership Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Science Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Northeast, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Northeast took their victory against Science Leadership Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do Science Leadership Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
