Volleyball Game Preview: Dobson Mustangs vs. Skyline Coyotes

Dobson is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, they and the Skyline Coyotes will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses dating back to last season for Dobson and 21 for Skyline dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Dobson didn't have quite enough to beat Gilbert and fell 3-2.

Dobson wouldn't go down easily and took Gilbert into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 25-12, 17-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Skyline didn't have quite enough to beat Camelback last Friday and fell 3-2.

Skyline took Camelback into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 18-25, 15-7.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

Everything went Dobson's way against Skyline when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Dobson made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dobson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
