On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Janalyn Duque, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Justice Jadwin, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
George Jenkins hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frostproof struck out 14 times.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Hurricanes by a score of 6-3.
Emma Bell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Braylee Rano was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.
George Jenkins is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Calvary Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. George Jenkins has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
