Softball Recap: Chenango Valley Takes a Loss

If Chenango Valley was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Owego Free Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maine-Endwell Spartans on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Caelyn Koch was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Colsten Beers was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Chenango Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Maine-Endwell, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

As of now, neither Chenango Valley nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
