Basketball Recap: Pioneer Beats Salamanca for Their Third Straight Win

Pioneer entered their tilt with Salamanca on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 37-28 victory over the Salamanca Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Warriors back in December of 2024, they had to take a 32-31 defeat.

Despite the loss, Salamanca had strong showings from Madisyn Lafferty, who posted six points and eight rebounds, and Makenzie Crouse, who earned seven points and three blocks. Lafferty is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Pioneer's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Salamanca, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Pioneer will look to defend their home court on Monday against Iroquois at 7:00 p.m. As for Salamanca, they will challenge Olean at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
