Northwest had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 77-51 margin over the South Titans on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for River Peters, who shot 65% from the field to rack up 27 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah Benning, who went 5-for-11 en route to 13 points along with five assists and four steals.
South's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Northwest has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points over those games. South's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-64 loss against Maize on the 7th. South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
