Football Preview: Centennial Coyotes vs. O'Connor Eagles
For the first time this season, Centennial will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to face off against the O'Connor Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Hamilton, who was ranked third at the time (Centennial was ranked tenth). The Coyotes had to suffer through a 50-10 loss at the hands of the Huskies. The Coyotes have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, O'Connor played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 49-10 loss at the hands of Chandler. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
Centennial will have to contain Jeremy Adeyanju as he made an impact in O'Connor's last game. He rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Adeyanju got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for O'Connor, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Centennial didn't have too much breathing room in their game against O'Connor in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 20-15 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Eagles' Kaden Armstrong, who rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries.
