Basketball Recap: West Vigo Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Vigo can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 53-15 loss at the hands of the North Knox Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Warriors are ranked 99th).

Bayli Vester was West Vigo's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Jaycee Elkins held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Rese Belleu took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

North Knox's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexi Primus led the charge by putting up ten points in addition to five boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Brynna Collins, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points and seven steals.

West Vigo's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for North Knox, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

West Vigo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Knox, they have already played their next match, a 58-52 defeat against South Knox on the 8th.
