Baseball Recap: Community Christian Gets the Win

Community Christian won the last time they faced Beddingfield and things went their way on Monday too. The Cyclones came out on top against the Bruins by a score of 11-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cyclones.

Tyler Spivey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Spivey was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Community Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Community Christian got a massive performance out of Tanner Pierce, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Pierce has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tee Bohne, who went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Community Christian's record is now 9-6. As for Beddingfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beddingfield, they will challenge Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
