Preview: Mansfield Tigers vs. McKinney North Bulldogs
The Mansfield Tigers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the McKinney North Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Mansfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 558th, while McKinney North is ranked 47th).
Last Tuesday, Mansfield suffered a rough 66-44 defeat at the hands of Mansfield Legacy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mansfield in their matchups with Mansfield Legacy: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, McKinney North had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 67.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 72-34 victory over Denison.
Kaelyn Hamilton was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The game was her 22nd in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ciara Harris, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Mansfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for McKinney North, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
