Preview: Lakeland Regional Lancers vs. Passaic Valley Hornets
Lakeland Regional has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Passaic Valley Hornets at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lakeland Regional focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Lakeland Regional came up short against West Milford and fell 60-50.
Lakeland Regional's loss came about despite a quality game from Noah Pagan, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Joe Zonis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Passaic Valley earned a 54-42 win over Garfield last Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Passaic Valley.
Lakeland Regional's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Passaic Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Lakeland Regional won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, slipping by Passaic Valley 64-63. Will Lakeland Regional repeat their success, or does Passaic Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
