Softball Recap: Alvarado Takes a Loss

Alvarado came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 22-4 to the Hillsboro Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Eagles since April 5, 2022.

Payton Slovak was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Alvarado has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. Hillsboro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Alvarado will venture away from home to face off against Godley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Godley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Alvarado surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hillsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Life Waxahachie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
