Recap: Medford Tech Jaguars vs. Camden Catholic Fighting Irish
The Medford Tech Jaguars came tearing into Sunday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Camden Catholic by a score of 69-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Tre Powell, who scored 25 points along with six assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Nesta Rice was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
Medford Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Camden Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Medford Tech won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Holy Cross at 5:15 p.m. on January 22nd. Holy Cross will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Medford Tech is ranked 69th). As for Camden Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
