Softball Game Preview: North Union Warriors vs. Eagle Grove Eagles

North Union has gone 7-1 against Eagle Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Union had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt West Hancock on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-3 victory.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagle Grove). They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Garner-Hayfield/Ventura on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.

Eagle Grove's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for North Union, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

North Union couldn't quite finish off Eagle Grove when the teams last played back in June of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
