Volleyball Recap: Springer Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Quemado

Springer faced Quemado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Brenna Duran paced Springer's offense, picking up 14 kills. Duran got some help from Abigail Eppler and her 32 assists. Duran was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Springer's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Quemado, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Springer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Gateway Christian on the 20th. As for Quemado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Logan on the 20th.
