Baseball Recap: Oak Ridge Triumphs

Oak Ridge never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They skirted past the Elberta Warriors 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 1, 2024.

Not much got past Mikee Teasley, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Elberta off the board. Teasley also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oak Ridge is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Warren East was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Oak Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Elberta's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Oak Ridge will take on White House-Heritage in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Elberta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against LeFlore at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be LeFlore's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
