Baseball Recap: Branham Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Branham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Pioneer Mustangs on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Bruins: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Wednesday, they had to take a 13-0 loss.

Branham got a massive performance out of Ryan Field, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two doubles. Field has become a key player for the Bruins: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Angelo Rivera, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Branham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Branham's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Pioneer, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10.

Branham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Leigh on the 14th. As for Pioneer, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Leland on the 14th.
