Recap: Spruce Timberwolves vs. North Mesquite Stallions
This season hasn't been kind to the Spruce Timberwolves, who are still winless after their 15th matchup. They were beaten by North Mesquite 69-32 on Friday. Spruce has struggled against North Mesquite recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
North Mesquite's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jermiah Grigsby, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Grigsby continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquel Mouton, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Spruce bumped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for North Mesquite, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Spruce will head out on the road to challenge West Mesquite at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Mesquite presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Spruce in Texas (West Mesquite is ranked 161st, while Spruce is ranked 1455th). As for North Mesquite, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poteet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
