Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Wayne South Side on Monday, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran came back down to earth. The Cadets fell 10-5 to the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cadets of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Raelyn Koesters made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Abagail Weaver, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran has already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against Churubusco on the 16th. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-4 loss against Norwell on the 16th.
