League recap: Deubrook tops Clark/Willow Lake to extend winning streak

Adding to the longest winning streak in Dakota Valley (9 Man) this week, Deubrook beat Clark/Willow Lake 56-32. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.

Castlewood lost to Hamlin 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

On the heels of Dustin Trooien and Riley Hanson, Deubrook has had great success on offense. Trooien leads the league in passing with 700 yards, while Hanson has rushed for 2,024 yards this season. Lake Preston's Michael Bradfield leads the league in receiving yards with 215 on 10 catches.

The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Arlington and Adolph Shepardson's team. The Cardinals enters the contest ranked 11th in the state, while the Dolphins ranks ninth.

There should be lots of points scored when Arlington and Deubrook face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Steve Gilbertson's team comes in having scored 146 this season, while the Dolphins have scored 417. The Cardinals scored 28 points last week as they defeated Elkton/Lake Benton MN.

Arlington and the Elks played the closest game in the league this week, with Arlington eventually emerging with a 28-23 victory.
