Recap: Wright City Lumberjax vs. Oktaha Tigers
It was a good run, but the Wright City Lumberjax unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oktaha. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wright City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ali Gibson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shalan Haley, who scored 14 points.
Wright City's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1. As for Oktaha, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wright City and Sequoyah will face off on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sequoyah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Wright City is ranked 15th). Oktaha won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Quinton on January 6th. Quinton's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so Oktaha's offense will have their work cut out for Oktaha.
