Columbia County Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Pierce Cughan and Clay Farley

If Columbia County Christian were feeling good off their 60-34 takedown of Meadowbrook Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Columbia County Christian fell to Northumberland Christian 46-40. It was the first time this season that Columbia County Christian let down their fans at home.

Clay Farley and Pierce Cughan certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Farley scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Cughan scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Columbia County Christian's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3. As for Northumberland Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia County Christian will face off against Walnut Street Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northumberland Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Juniata Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Juniata Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
