Basketball Recap: Point Pleasant Big Blacks vs. Buffalo Bison
Point Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 69-60 to the Buffalo Bison. The Big Blacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Big Blacks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Barton, who went 10-for-18 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Barton has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carrsen Lambert, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and five boards.
Buffalo found their leader in sophomore Asher Flanery, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Flanery also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 67%. Caleb Cales was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points.
Point Pleasant's record is now 6-15. As for Buffalo, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Looking ahead, Point Pleasant will host Lincoln County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Point Pleasant is facing Lincoln County at the right time seeing as Lincoln County is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Buffalo, they will square off against Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Scott is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season.
