Basketball Recap: Bridgeton Find Success

Lower Cape May came into Wednesday's matchup looking for another win against Bridgeton, but Jameell Purnell wouldn't allow it. The Bridgeton Bulldogs walked away with a 61-54 victory over the Lower Cape May Tigers on Wednesday thanks in part to Purnell, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bridgeton's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kyion Gray, who posted eight points along with six assists and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Bridgeton's record now sits at 9-13. As for Lower Cape May, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Bridgeton will challenge Vineland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season. Lower Cape May has already played their next game (against Egg Harbor Township), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
