Volleyball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short on the Road Against West Valley

Lakeside had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the West Valley Mustangs by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Lakeside sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8.

West Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Destiny Ioane, who had five aces. Those five aces gave Ioane a new career-high.

West Valley now has a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Lakeside will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Corona at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Valley, they will challenge Vista Murrieta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
