Basketball Recap: Burns Takes a Loss

Burns has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Hendersonville Bearcats on Friday, falling 56-29. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 48-24 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Burns' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Greene, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Greene is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Laney Williams was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Burns' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Hendersonville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Burns didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-24 victory against Hillcrest on the 28th. As for Hendersonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-48 win against Crest on the 28th.
