Baseball Recap: Pocono Mountain West Comes Up Short

Pocono Mountain West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stroudsburg Mountaineers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Mountaineers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pocono Mountain West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Espinoza, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Tyler Walters also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pocono Mountain West's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Stroudsburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocono Mountain West will host West Scranton at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stroudsburg, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Northampton at 4:00 p.m.
