Baseball Game Preview: Dan River Wildcats vs. William Campbell Generals

The Dan River Wildcats will face off against the William Campbell Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. William Campbell took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dan River, who comes in off a win.

Dan River is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Chatham by a score of 14-9 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, William Campbell was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell 7-2 to Appomattox County. The Generals haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Dan River's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for William Campbell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Dan River took their win against William Campbell when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
