Patriot waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Unity Reed Lions 26-1. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Patriot's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Unity Reed, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Patriot will challenge rival Osbourn Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.6, the Yellowjackets 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Unity Reed is set to square off against their familiar foe Battlefield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
