Shafter waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 17 straight wins... but they left with 18. They put the hurt on the McFarland Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.
Sydnee Macias paced Shafter's offense, picking up 16 kills. Macias got some help from Mikayla Villagomez and her 34 assists. Macias also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kyla Schooley, racking up two apiece.
Shafter's victory bumped their record up to 22-1. As for McFarland, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20.
