Volleyball Recap: Thompson Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Thompson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Hoover Buccaneers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Thompson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.

Maddy Henderson paced Thompson's offense, picking up 16 kills. Henderson got some help from Jayla Green and her 21 assists. Kenzly Foote controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Hoover's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cheyenne Conner, who had 22 digs and three assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Tingle, who had 12 kills, five digs, and three blocks.

Thompson's victory bumped their record up to 26-10. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-23.

Thompson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Oak Mountain on the 16th. As for Hoover, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Hillcrest on the 16th.
