Franklin Central is 1-6 against Cathedral since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Flashes will face off against the Fighting Irish at 5:30 p.m. Franklin Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Franklin Central's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Ben Davis. The Flashes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Franklin Central got a great performance from Nevan Tutterow as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Tutterow a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Nate Schwark was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Brayden Mahoney was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Franklin Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cathedral strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard by a score of 5-1.
Bo Blondi was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Blondi was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Charlie Johnson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Blondi wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Christiansen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Ryan Freije also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Cathedral's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Central, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Franklin Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Cathedral in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flashes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
