Soccer Recap: Elk Grove Comes Up Short

Elk Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Valley Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Hawks are ranked 54th).

Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Central Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.

Elk Grove will square off against Galt at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Galt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season. As for Central Valley, they will face off against Davis Sr. at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
