Basketball Game Preview: Royal Valley Panthers vs. Silver Lake Eagles

The Royal Valley Panthers will square off against the Silver Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Royal Valley is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since February 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 72-41 defeat at the hands of Rossville. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, Silver Lake won against Marysville on Tuesday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Silver Lake managed a 64-60 win over St. Marys. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Silver Lake pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Royal Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-10-2 record this season.

Royal Valley was dealt a bruising 70-39 loss at the hands of Silver Lake in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Royal Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
