Basketball Game Preview: Lee-Scott Academy Warriors vs. Glenwood Gators

Lee-Scott Academy hasn't had much luck against Glenwood recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Glenwood Gators at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lee-Scott Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They breezed by Dadeville to the tune of 48-16. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season.

Lee-Scott Academy found their leader in freshman Clarke Ivatt, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Ivatt's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Riley Fields, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Glenwood had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over the Knights.

Glenwood is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Lee-Scott Academy ended up a good deal behind Glenwood when the teams last played last Friday, losing 58-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Glenwood's Bobbi Taylor Breazeale, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards.
