Volleyball Game Preview: Dedham Marauders vs. Malden Catholic Lancers

The Dedham Marauders are taking a road trip to challenge the Malden Catholic Lancers at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Malden Catholic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dedham, who comes in off a win.

Dedham proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Fontbonne Academy 3-2.

Meanwhile, Malden Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Bishop Fenwick.

While Malden Catholic ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.

Dedham's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Malden Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything went Dedham's way against Malden Catholic in their previous matchup on Thursday, as Dedham made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
