Football Recap: Hughson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hughson was the 40-7 winner over Ripon when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Huskies lost to the Indians on the road by a 37-20 margin on Wednesday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Huskies, who until this matchup were averaging 14.67 points allowed.

Leah Hobby threw for 130 yards and a pair of TDs. Keylee Lundquist was her top target, picking up 56 receiving yards and one score.

Ripon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ana Shriver, who threw for 217 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 47 yards. Those five passing touchdowns gave Shriver a new career-high. Elena Vandernakker was in the mix too, providing Ripon with two TDs.

Hughson has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Ripon, their record now sits at 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hughson is set to take on their familiar foe Sonora at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ripon will square off against rival Hilmar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Indians 14.6, the Yellowjackets 8.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
