Preview: Currituck County Knights vs. South Johnston Trojans

The Currituck County Knights will be playing at home against the South Johnston Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Currituck County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully South Johnston likes a good challenge.

Currituck County can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by First Flight on the road to the tune of 38-0. Given Currituck County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 137th, while First Flight is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Devin Duke looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 97 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Jamie Dance got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

South Johnston fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 25-7 win over West Johnston on Friday.

South Johnston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Williams, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. Williams was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Riley Adams was another key contributor, rushing for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

Currituck County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for South Johnston, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4.
