Football Game Preview: Geneva Panthers vs. Dale County Warriors + How To Watch

The Geneva Panthers will head out to square off against the Dale County Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Geneva has given up an average of 40.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Geneva was handed a 21-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They slipped by Daleville 35-34. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

J.J. King and Zerek Hall were among the main playmakers for Geneva as the former rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 69 yards and one score. Those 126 rushing yards gave King a new career-high. Braylon Soles also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Geneva was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Dale County entered their tilt with Pike County on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 28-11 win over the Bulldogs. 28 seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Dale County's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Geneva, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Geneva was dealt a bruising 48-7 defeat at the hands of Dale County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Benjamin Hedstrom (who threw for 170 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
