Baseball Recap: Emery Takes a Loss

Emery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Juab Wasps. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wasps this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 last Tuesday.

Emery saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Abrams, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Abrams has posted over his last 13 games.

Emery's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Juab, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emery will take on Delta at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Emery's pitchers better be ready for this one: Delta has averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Juab, they will square off against North Sanpete at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Juab's pitchers better be ready for this one: North Sanpete has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
