Basketball Recap: Covina Comes Up Short

Covina lost against Bishop Amat back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Covina Colts fell 65-56 to the Bishop Amat Lancers. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Bishop Amat to victory were Aiden Shaw and Eli Chavez. Shaw went 6 for 13 on his way to 21 points and four steals, while Chavez went 6 of 8 on his way to 16 points. The contest was Shaw's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Sanchez, who posted seven points.

Covina's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Bishop Amat, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Covina didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-51 victory against Southlands Christian on the 26th. As for Bishop Amat, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-62 win against Paso Robles on the 26th.
