Preview: Burlington City Blue Devils vs. Pennsauken Indians
The Burlington City Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Pennsauken Indians at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Burlington City is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Burlington City suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. Their rough 74-49 defeat to Burlington Township might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Burlington City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Burlington Township is ranked 143rd).
Meanwhile, Pennsauken's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bordentown.
Burlington City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Pennsauken, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Things could have been worse for Burlington City, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to Pennsauken in their previous matchup on January 2nd. Can Burlington City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
