Basketball Recap: Franklin's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Franklin hadn't done well against Edgewood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Franklin Wildcats made off with a 32-31 victory over the Edgewood Cougars. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Ella Allen and Kamdyn Buck certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Allen posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, while Buck put up five points.

Franklin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Edgewood, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Franklin and Edgewood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Franklin will challenge Ross at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday down 493 places (661 vs. 168). Similarly, Edgewood (ranked 646th) will meet Brookville (ranked 224th) at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
