Volleyball Recap: Waverly Central Comes Up Short

Waverly Central extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 13-11. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hickman County Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

As for Hickman County, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 8, 2024.

Hickman County was led to victory by Kayleigh Gordon and Aubrey Kistler. Gordon had 27 digs and two assists, while Kistler had five digs and five aces. Gordon is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Waverly Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hickman County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Houston County on the 7th.
