The Miami Springs Golden Hawks couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 64-32 loss at the hands of Miami Beach on Monday. Miami Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.

Miami Beach got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Tobin out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Lieberperson, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.

Miami Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Miami Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
